Introducing...

Bower!

well, it's "Bauer" as in JACK BAUER from 24. But we've changed the spelling - he IS a doggie afterall.

OUR doggie!

weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Oh-kay, here's the situation My parents went away on a week's vacation and They left the keys to the brand new Porsche Would they mind? Umm, well, of course not I'll just take it for a little spin And maybe show it off to a couple of friends I'll just cruise it around the neighborhood Well, maybe I shouldn't Yeah, of course I should

wait - wrong channel. but saturday afternoon was sort of like that. we'd been talking half-heartedly with the breeder of these little guys called "Ganaraskans"... flip to the Discovery channel

The Ganaraskan is a modern breed developed about 30 years ago by a group of breeders, mostly from around the Ganaraska river region of southern Ontario (hence the name), who set out to create the ideal therapy dog. The qualities required from a good therapy animal, such as above average intelligence, eagerness to please and a non-shedding coat, automatically make this dog an ideal family companion. The foundation breeds that contributed to its early development were the English Cocker, the Bichon Frise, the Poodle and the Miniature Schnauzer. Only dogs showing exceptional capacity to learn were used for the program. To this day, all breeding stock is required to be inspected and cleared for hip and elbow dysplasia by an accredited radiologist and also be certified by the Canine Eye Registration Foundation.

and back to me... but we are moving in 10 days - so obviously aren't ready to bring a puppy home. but what's the harm in having a "see"? Well, maybe we shouldn't. Yeah, of course we should.

after teaching that afternoon we asked the breeder (who happened to be heading to Kitchener so was "passing by" anyway) to stop by the Dance Studio just to "show" us (us being jason & I and the Lupiens) a pair of brother/sister 3.5 month old pups - perfect we wanted a boy and the Lupiens were looking for a girl... and PVR fast forward through commercials ... we scooped them up, signed on the dotted line and a new season of Bauer and Chloe: CKU (counter-kitty unit) begins...

roll credits.

next weeks episode: crate training, living at the in-laws and the joys of discovering teeth marks in your new pumps.

hugs and puppy-love,
angela

Congrats on the newest addition to your family. It is such a cute looking breed. My family has mini schnauzer's so I swore that I would also never get a dog that sheds....good for you for following that rule. Your house guests will thank you.

Can't want to meet him!

Hi there,
Love your puppy. I've looking for a Ganaraskan and I am told they come from Port Hope, Ontario
Could you tell me the name of the breeder. Unable to find anything in the yellow pages or phone book and it doesn't seem that they have a web site. Saw one yesterday as well they are wonderful!
